Urolithiasis, a formation of urinary stones, is a prevalent condition affecting millions worldwide. Traditional medicinal practices often utilize herbal remedies to prevent or treat urolithiasis due to their perceived efficacy and fewer adverse effects. Guilandina bonduc, a traditional medicinal plant, has been explored for its potential anti-urolithiatic activity, aiming to address the growing prevalence of urolithiasis, or kidney stone formation. This study investigates the bioactive compounds in Guilandina bonduc responsible for its potential therapeutic effects and evaluates the plants efficacy in preventing and treating urolithiasis. Additionally, it underscores the importance of standardized research methodologies and clinical trials to validate the efficacy and safety of herbal remedies in managing urolithiasis.
